Ring Size Information
Selecting the correct ring size can be a tricky task. In South Africa, we traditionally measure ring sizes by using letters of the alphabet.
PLEASE NOTE: We do not offer a ring sizing service, and we strongly suggest that you go to your nearest jeweller and have the correct letter size measured for your finger.
Megan Goldner Designs do not take responsibility for incorrect ring sizes ordered.
Cost of resizing rings
The following costs are associated with resizing a ring:
- A minimum of 1 hour’s labour. Depending on the amount of work and difficulty of the task an additional half or full hour/s may be required.
- Material costs
- Return (collection and delivery) courier fees. This includes courier costs to setters if small stones are involved.
Resizing Keepsake rings
Keepsake rings can be resized, but specialized skills are needed for the job, and it is best to send your Keepsake ring back to us for resizing.
Keepsake rings are stunning, and can be customized with an array of inserts like different semi-precious stones, ashes, breast milk, colours etc. and they sometimes take weeks to make.
The estimated cost to resize a Keepsake Ring is as follows:
- LABOUR: A minimum of 1 hour’s labour. Depending on the intricacy of the design, an additional time may be required, but it depends on the style.
- MATERIAL COSTS: R450.00+ will be charged to resize the metal part of the ring. The price is dependent on the metal price and the amount of work involved and if we need to add additional metal or not. Please contact us for an exact quote.
- SHIPPING: Standard return (collection and delivery) courier fees will be applied to collect and deliver the ring.
INLAY RINGS
Due to the rigid nature of the Inlay part of the ring, these rings are NOT sizable with the Inlay intact, and the entire Inlay needs to be redone. Re-doing an inlay ring usually takes 2-3 hours depending on the design.
You will also need to send additional Inlay insert material (Cremains/hair/milk) with the ring to be resized so that the new inlay can contain these items. Please note that creating the Inlay is an artistic expression, and no Inlay will ever look the same.
The time, techniques, materials and skills used to make these rings, makes for a costly resizing and the simplist way to avoid these costs are to simply have your correct ring size upon ordering.
Contact us for an exact quote if you need your Inlay ring re-sized.

General information
Rings listed as ‘Adjustable’ means that they can be adjusted to fit the most common ring sizes. In South Africa, these range from Size N – Size S.
Ring sizing can get tricky when it comes to stacking rings. As well as mixing and matching a range of wonderful colors and styles, you may want to choose various sizes to wear on different hands and fingers.
To put simply, a specific measure taken in millimeters is associated with one particular letter. These measures are the same across South Africa, give or take a few millimeters. As rings come in a variety of shapes, styles, and designs, the measurements may vary slightly.
All stacking rings and rings wider than 5mm are automatically increased with 1/2 – 1 full size up in the manufacturing process to accommodate the width. Please order your normal ring size and we will make the adjustment on our side.
If you are feeling brave, you can follow the below instructions to measure your own ring size:
